Frequently asked questions
Which MICR cartridge fits my printer?
Match the cartridge to your printer model — not to your check stock or software. Find your printer's toner part number (for example 26A, 55A, or 64A on HP LaserJets) and order the MICR version of that cartridge. Any MICR cartridge works with any of our blank check stock. Not sure of your model? Call (702) 389-6009.
New OEM or remanufactured — what's the difference?
New OEM cartridges are factory-original, never used or refilled, with the most consistent print density — the safer choice for high check volume or a bank that's strict about MICR read rates. Remanufactured cartridges are recycled shells professionally cleaned, rebuilt, and refilled with MICR toner, at a lower cost each. For routine check runs, remanufactured is the practical option.
Why can't I just use regular toner?
The routing and account numbers along the bottom of a check are printed in a magnetic ink your bank's reader scans. Standard toner isn't magnetic, so checks printed with it can be rejected or manually processed. Some banks accept non-MICR checks, but MICR is the safe default — confirm with your bank before your first run.
Standard or high yield?
High-yield cartridges hold more toner and print more pages before replacement, at a higher price per cartridge but usually a lower cost per page. If you print checks in regular volume, high yield generally works out cheaper; for light or occasional runs, standard yield ties up less cash.
Not sure what to order?
Call us at (702) 389-6009 before you buy. Tell us what software you print from, which printer you use, and what check format you're on — we'll tell you exactly what to order. It takes a couple of minutes and saves the hassle of a return.
