MultiCHAX is check printing software for accounts payable and payroll. It prints your checks — complete with MICR encoding, logo, signatures, and payment information — onto blank check stock in a single step, and selects the correct bank account for you so you don't print on the wrong form.

Yes. MultiCHAX works with all Windows versions of QuickBooks and Quicken, including QuickBooks Online (browser only — Chrome or Firefox — and Adobe Acrobat Reader is required). QuickBooks Online Payroll users are limited to 1-stub format on top or bottom checks. CHAX Software Inc is a QuickBooks Gold Developer.

It comes down to how many bank accounts you print from: Starter covers 5, Professional covers 999, and Ultimate is unlimited (with a full year of phone and chat support). Enterprise runs on Windows Server with unlimited users, checks, and check styles.

A Windows PC (Windows 7, 8/8.1, 10, or 11 — x86/x64 processors; ARM is not compatible), a laser printer, and blank check stock. Depending on your bank you may also need MICR toner. Enterprise Edition requires Windows Server 2008–2022.

They solve opposite problems. MultiCHAX prints checks you are paying out — accounts payable and payroll, driven by your accounting software. CHAX prints checks you are collecting — pre-authorized drafts from payments customers give you by phone, email, or fax. If you're paying vendors, you want MultiCHAX. If you're getting paid, you want CHAX.
